Membership

There are three types of membership to Sail Georgina. Membership to Sail Georgina Association is open to any person with a genuine interest in furthering the Association’s objectives who completes the appropriate application forms and pays the required dues. Membership includes spouses and dependent children.  Each member in good standing (and their spouse) are entitled to vote at General Meetings and to serve as an Officer, or on the Executive.

General Membership

Membership fees for General Members are $70 per year. You should select this membership type if you do not have a Sail Georgina allocated slip for the current year. General Membership includes:

  • Social Activities
  • Voting rights at the SGA general meetings
  • The right to hold a space on the SGA slip waiting list
  • Racing Program (excluding PHRF fees)

Community Sail Membership

Membership fees for Community Sail Members are $120 per year. You should select this membership type if you do not have a Sail Georgina allocated slip for the current year, but do wish to use the clubs' dinghies for racing or community sailing. Community Sail Membership includes:

  • Access to the club's dinghies when they are not required by the sailing school.
    • Note: any damage caused to the club dinghy or equipment is not covered by this fee, and the member is responsible for repairing or replacing the damaged equipment
  • Social Activities
  • Voting rights at the SGA general meetings
  • The right to hold a space on the SGA slip waiting list
  • Racing Program (excluding PHRF fees)

Senior Membership

Membership fees for Senior Members are $120 per year. You should select this membership type if you have a Sail Georgina allocated slip (not via the town lottery) for the current year. Senior Membership includes:

  • Slip Allocation at a discounted rate (compared to public slip rates)
  • Social Activities
  • Voting rights at the SGA general meetings
  • Racing Program (excluding PHRF fees)

 

Membership fees do not include the following (additional fees will be due, as required)

  • Town of Georgina slip fees
  • PHRF fees
  • Optional social activities (meal at the AGM, etc)
  • Sailing Lessons

Membership application

You can apply for membership in Sail Georgina in three ways:

1)    You can complete and submit the form via the web site – this is the fastest and easiest way.  You will find the form here: http://www.sailgeorgina.ca/reg2010.html

2)    You can print a paper copy of the form out from the web site, complete them, and physically mail them to us.  The mailing address is on the contact us page.

3)    You can request a blank membership form to be sent to you, that you can then complete and physically mail back to us. To request a blank membership form, please call the Sail Georgina phone number: 1-877-977-SAIL  (1-877-977-7245), and press 9 (to leave a message).

Slips in Jackson's Point Harbour

Currently SGA have been allocated 30 slips in the Jacksons Point harbour by the Town of Georgina (Sail Boats Only).  At this time, all slips have been allotted to current members, and there is a waiting list  for slips.  Please read our slip waiting list policy for more details.

Any Member wishing to be added to the waiting list must indicate this on their annual membership registration form. Please note that you must be a member of Sail Georgina to hold a space on the slip waiting list.
